GIVING TREE

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow. He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.Time went by. The little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad."Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy."I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them.""Sorry, but I don't have money. But you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited.He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily.


The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. "Come and play with me" the tree said.

"I don't have time to play. I have to work for family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?"

"Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house."

So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said.

The boy said, "I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?"

"Use my truck to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy."

So the boy cut the tree truck to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you." the tree said.

"I don't have teeth to bite" the boy replied.

"No more truck for you to climb on"

"I am too old for that now" the boy said.

"I really can't give you anything. The only thing left is my dying roots." the tree said with tears.

"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." the boy replied.

"Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, come sit down with me and rest."

The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.


There are a number of ways we could choose to interpret this story. But its mainly about giving. We could also think of this tree as tree as our parents.

When we are young, we love to play with Mom and Dad. But as we grow up, we leave them, usually we only return to them when we need something or when we are facing some form of difficulty.

Regardless of any situation, our parents will always be there for us and give us everything they can to make us happy. In the story, it may appear that the boy is cruel to the tree but my friends, that's how many of us are treating our parents.

Tentu saja mereka harus melakukannya, lagipula Anda memang atasan mereka, bukan? Aaah, andaikan saja segampang itu. Sayang, perusahaan Anda tidak menggunakan prinsip militer di mana perintah dikeluarkan lantas dilakukan. Tak ada kata tapi, tak ada pertanyaan, muka marah ataupun penolakan.

Situasi di lingkungan kerja jelas berbeda. Bagian memberi perintah dan menjelaskan proses eksekusinya memang mudah. Tapi apakah mereka benar-benar menjalankan tugas tersebut sesuai yang Anda harapkan? Nah, di sini letak tantangannya. Memang, tidak semua bawahan Anda tidak kompeten. Namun di saat yang bersamaan, tidak semua tingkah laku mereka juga menguntungkan buat hasil akhir dari kerja tim. Bahkan bisa jadi ada salah satu yang bersikap seakan-akan dia tak bisa menerima perintah dari siapapun, tak juga Anda yang jelas-jelas atasannya.


Menghadapi karakter subordinat yang sulit memang bukan hal baru. Anda yang ditugaskan sebagai pihak untuk menangani tim diharapkan untuk siap menghadapinya. Namun apakah Anda telah benar-benar menangani karyawan yang tak gampang diajak bekerja sama itu? Memang tidak disarankan untuk bertindak impulsif, tapi di lain pihak Anda juga dituntut untuk bertindak cepat. Tentu saja karena taruhannya adalah kinerja tim. Semakin lama tindakan tak kooperatif itu berlangsung, semakin susah pula tindakan tersebut diubah atau berhenti. Berikut beberapa langkah yang perlu diingat setiap kali Anda sampai terbersit pertanyaan, "Sebenarnya yang bos itu siapa, sih?":

1. Hadapi Masalah.

Lebih gampang memang rasanya untuk mengabaikan karyawan yang Anda rasa tidak memberikan yang terbaik untuk kesuksesan tim dengan melimpahkan tugas ke bawahan lain yang tampaknya lebih bisa diandalkan. Sama sekali bukan ide yang bagus. Ingat, hal ini justru salah satu bagian penting dalam pekerjaan Anda. Dan percayalah, masalah tersebut tidak akan terpecahkan dengan sendirinya. Bahkan bisa bertambah arah. Konfrontasi semacam ini sebenarnya sudah menjadi agenda Anda. Berikutnya, tinggal dilaksanakan.

2. Tangani Tingkah Laku, Bukan Pribadi.

Tujuan Anda adalah mencapai satu solusi, bukan untuk "menang". Jadi sebaiknya fokuskan pada tindakan-tindakan yang kurang kooperatif, tanpa perlu menyerang sang subordinat secara personal. Gunakan pernyataan-pernyataan menggunakan "Saya" seperti, "Saya butuh setiap orang di dalam tim ini untuk tepat waktu agar goal tiap akhir bulan bisa dicapai," daripada menitikberatkan sang karyawan dengan menggunakan "Kamu" seperti, "Kamu selalu telat!" Lalu, beri kesempatan buat bawahan tersebut untuk ikut mencari jalan keluar dari masalahnya. Saat mereka juga diberi tanggungjawab untuk menghasilkan solusi, bawahan akan lebih merangkul jalan keluar tersebut saat akhirnya ditemukan.

3. Cari Penyebab.

Saat mengajak diskusi dengan karyawan yang tak kooperatif, tetaplah bersikap tenang dan positif, tapi tetap adil. Lemparkan serangkaian pertanyaan kunci yang tak bisa dijawab dengan satu atau dua kata. Dan, saat Anda merespon terhadap tanggapannya, sekali lagi, berusahalah untuk menjaga emosi agar tetap tenang. Rangkum kembali kepadanya apa saja yang baru saja ia katakan, Dengan begini, ia akan mengerti bahwa Anda benar-benar mendengarkan. Jika dari diskusi tersebut Anda berhasil menemukan sumber dari tingkah lakunya yang sulit saat bekerja, berarti akan lebih besar kemungkinanya buat Anda untuk mendapatkan solusi yang paling tepat.

4. Ulangi Bila Perlu.

Beberapa masalah sepele seperti telat datang ke kantor, bisa segera ditangani dengan percakapan singkat di ruangan Anda bersama sang karyawan. Namun masalah lebih berat seperti subordinat yang kerap bertindak seakan yang punya perusahaan terhadap rekan-rekannya yang lain karena memang punya kebiasaan menggertak, butuh lebih dari satu kali konfrontasi sebelum melihat perubahan. Bersabarlah. Jangan selalu mengharapkan hasil instan. Sebaliknya, usahakan untuk meraih peningkatan yang kontinu daripada ngotot meraih sukses instan.

Financial Reporting Accountant :

Reports to Finance Controller, the incumbent is responsible to assist FC in:

  • Preparing reports to the Group or BU Management, including filing of the supporting documents.
    To ensure all data are accurately prepared and entered into the reporting template correctly.
  • To ensure all reports are submitted timely (as per Group reporting and special requirements), checking and reviewing the data prior submitting to the Group or Management.

Preparing BU budget / forecast, ie:
  • To collect all data from the respective department and prepare the working files, to assist FC in reviewing and to ensure all data are properly compiled and presented.
  • To ensure the budget and forecast are timely submitted, analyzing for any discrepancies between actual and budget / forecast.

Monitoring Excellence - 2010 target achievement:

  • To prepare monthly summary reports for all departments expenses
  • To obtain provide the information to the respective department head and obtain the explanation for any discrepancies.
  • To alert management should any expenses exceeding the budget/forecast.


General Requirements:

  1. Must possess at least Bachelor degree in Finance or Economic with deep understanding in Financial Statement preparation,
  2. Having 4-6 years working experience in Accounting, Finance Reporting, and Budgeting / Forecasting. (HFM and Costing would be an advantage) with minimum 2 years in Supervisory Level at any multinational/ similar industries,
  3. Actively speaking and writing in English & Bahasa Indonesia.
  4. Computer literacy is a must and can use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  5. Familiar with ERP system (JDE, Pick, etc).

Competencies:
