Long hair cuts

Always wanted long hair but never had the patience to wait for your hair to grow to the desired length? Well you can get beautiful long hair reasonably easy with hair extensions however you should know a little bit about the hair extension process before you go ahead and get the extensions done. You also need to make sure you allow plenty of time for getting hair extensions, they take a long time to do and the costs can be very high so make sure you check out what options are best for you, when you are likely to have the required time, and the costs involved.

Shop around for different prices for different options but make sure that you are still using someone to do the extensions, whichever way they do them that have experience. Otherwise you may find that within a couple of days you are going to have to cut them out anyway.

There are different types of extensions, synthetic and natural or human hair extensions. It is believed that human hair extensions are much easier to take care of than any synthetic options. You should also make sure you are aware of how extensions are applied to your original hair. First of all the process should be painless.

In some cases you will find that a braid made with your own hair around the back of your head in the middle of the hair and the extensions are literally sewn to this braid. The braids are placed in the middle of your head so that the hair above covers the braid and the added hair extensions. These kinds of extensions will need to be checked around 6 to 8 weeks at which time they will need to be redone as your hair will, or should have grown, during that period and you don’t want the braid visible.

Another alternative for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_extensions : hair extensions is what is called Hot Fusion. This is when the extensions are glued to your head, make sure that this is completed by a professional cosmetologist as this is an art and you cannot do this yourself. Apart from the obvious fact that you do not have eyes in the back of your head or arms that reach all the way around you are dealing with glue here and attempting to do this yourself would be a mistake. These kinds of extensions are supposed to last for around 4 months, as long as you are taking care of them of course.

Remember that any extensions are not real hair that can re-grow so be careful with any curling irons or straightening tools as well as your hair dryer. If you get the hair hot it is very likely it will frizzle up and break off then your only options are to go and get your new long here cut and what would be the point of that.

Caring for hair extensions is exactly the same process as caring for your own hair, though if you were unable to grow your hair long previously due to a lot of breakage or so on then perhaps you need to take better care of your original hair and you may find that if you are not caring for your hair the extensions will not last as long as you had hoped.

Layered long hair

If they don’t cut their hair in pregnancy, many women cut their hair shorter after the baby is born. The reason, as always, is that it’s easier to deal with.

If you think about it, though, long hair may not require that much extra effort when compared to short hair. You’ll spend less time getting it cut at the salon, which can be nice when you have to fit that in around your children’s schedules. Brushing your hair only takes a little longer for well-maintaned long hair than it does for shorter hair.

Pulling the hair back in a ponytail is easy and practical for any hair that is long enough for that style. I’ve always been fond of braiding my hair when I need a lot of control.

Children love long hair. My daughter is always asking me to brush her hair long, “like Rapunzel’s.” My kids would be shocked if I cut my hair.

But what about those hectic days when you have a hard time even getting into the shower? Isn’t long hair inconvenient then?

It doesn’t have to be. Twist your hair up into a knot if you don’t absolutely have to brush it and you won’t have to wait for it to dry. My hair needs washing only about every other day before I start to notice an oily feeling… occasionally daily in summer due to the heat, and sometimes I suspect I could get away with washing it less in winter if I were in THAT much of a hurry. It’s just so nice to get out of the shower some days, feeling clean, but not needing to worry about drying my hair.

Moms do not have to have short hair. It’s common practice these days, but it’s nice to stand out in a way you won’t regret later. I often get envious comments from other moms, and meeting other long haired moms is fun. No, we don’t talk about having long hair all the time… occasionally share care or styling tips, but I think most women do that anyhow. It’s just a little something we automatically know we have in common.

Keeping your hair long is also a great way to feel feminine. My husband and I knew each other for years before we married, but had lost contact for a time, during which I grew my hair out. His first comment on seeing me after 5 years apart, aside from general hellos was “I love your hair.” I don’t say that’s the only reason we got back together, not by a long shot, but it sure didn’t hurt. He’d be quite disappointed if I cut my hair. Few men can resist long hair. When you’re a parent and sometimes there aren’t many ways to show your feelings, little things like teasing him with long hair works quite nicely.

Why does everyone have great long hair? Wow your hair seems like it grew overnight. Most of the time human hair extensions are more costly than synthetic ones. Human hair extensions tend to be the preferred kind of hair extensions because they look and feel a lot more natural then the synthetic kind. Many people who visit the salons to get hair extensions, most people choose to have the human hair extensions, by doing this it gives the extensions a more natural look compared to synthetic hair extensions. Synthetic hair, on the other hand, is colored and styled before application and cannot be changed. These hair extensions can be either synthetic or natural. Synthetic hair costs much less than human hair. Many of today’s methods have been adapted from African-American stylists that weave human or synthetic hair into corn rows for a long, flowing and natural look. First, hair for extensions can be either synthetic or real human hair. The hair that is used can be synthetic or human and varies in price and quality. Hair extensions involve the attachment of human or synthetic hair to your existing hair to create a more full or long look immediately.

A air extensions is just a hairpiece that is a attached to the natural hair or scalp; the extensions improve the length of the hair and thickness. The natural hair of Caucasians is different from that of Asians or Afro-Americans and you should choose an extension that will match your own hair. If you are not careful the wrong tension and additional stress at the scalp could result in soreness around the scalp and the possibility of your hair falling out. Many of today's methods are much faster and can cause less damage to the natural hair. Human hair is very heavy and the extra added weight to already damaged hair can cause the natural hair to fall out---even causing permanent hair loss. Clip-in extensions are suitable for people whose natural hair is shoulder length or longer. If you have a short haircut, but are dying for long locks, buy a wig that is similar in color to your natural hair. Hair extensions are in demand, everyone want to have longer hair, they don’t want to wait for their hair to grow longer because this is the now generation so everyone finds the fast and easy way to get longer hair, when adding the extension gives a more sophisticated look. With fusion hair extensions, the extensions should be indistinguishable from your natural hair. Hair extensions can be added to your own natural hair to add length, volume, and body. Using chemicals is a big problem with hair extensions. The chemicals can irritate your scalp.

short long hair

there is always a continuously changing new fashion haircut from the Pob – Victoria Beckham’s famous bob hair cut to the feathered long hair of Jennifer Aniston. Hairstyles and haircuts I feel are an important statement for everyone, it’s the first thing most people look at your face and of course your hair frames your face.

I’m guessing you’ve all had a hair disaster or mistake somewhere along the line or a hairstyle or colour you regret now. I will always remember a few years ago the layered look came into fashion and as I love the colour pink I wanted something different so went for the layered look very short layers on top too with bright pink coloured hair between the layers. Yes it looked fab but when I wanted to grow my hair again oh dear bad mistake. To this day, I’m still growing the layers out and that was 5 years ago, in many ways I wish I had never had it done but it was nice at the time.

If you’ve got short hair there is only a certain amount of styles you can have a go at and also the option of having it up if you want. The shorter you have your hair you have less chance of being able to do this, that’s why personally I couldn’t have short hair all the time would drive me nuts. The bob that Victoria Beckham had created in the summer of 2007 became so popular thousands of people had their locks cut off to sport a new short bob called the Pob. I was tempted as I liked it but I knew I would get bored very quickly, I am one of those people who gets bored with the style and colour of their hair very quickly. I’m always trying something new out, a new colour, whether it be a new shade of blonde or adding a hint of pink somewhere.

A short hair cut can suit a lot of people from short and spiky to short and sleek, whatever your style may be, make sure it suits your face shape, always best to ask your hairstylist on what kind of cut they think would suit you.

If you’re hair is long then your like me, I just keep growing mine the longer the better, well I think I would have to have it cut if it got to my lower back. With long hair you have more to play with, from layers to feathering the front layers or having a variety of colours placed into the hair. I love having the ability to have my hair down when I want using a middle or side parting to having it up in a ponytail, pigtails, plait, bun or a messy up do. The list is endless with long hair, you can do what you want, of course it’s more difficult it you have layers put in as I found out, but handy grips come in place then. If you’re lazy like me some days, you can just put your hair back in a ponytail and leave the house, having short hair I know I couldn’t do this.

Your hair is one of your greatest assets, when it comes to your overall appearance. People, after looking at your face, will first see your hairstyle, and only then continue to analyze the rest of your body structure. It is, hence, quite important for you to take good care of your hair, and see that you make yourself appear chic and trendy all the time, with the help of the right hairstyle. Really, a good hairstyle will make you look like a trendsetter, even if the rest of you is draped in the drabbest and most boring home clothes, say your nightwear.

It is necessary for you to ensure that you exhibit just the right kind of hairstyle, in terms of length, cut, and comfort. The length of your hairstyle ought to depend, firstly, on your face cut. You ought to ask an expert hair designer or artist about this. For instance, if you have a round face, you will need a hairstyle that makes it appear longer, and hence, more attractive.

When it comes to the length, though, apart from the face cut, you also need to select the right kind for your exact hair texture. For instance, fine hair needs added bounce, and hence, you will have to try and keep the hairstyle as short and full of layers as possible, in order to add more volume to it.

Next comes the cut of the hairstyle. When I say cut, I mean the exact shape and style of cutting that a wedding hairstyle requires and makes use of. The number of layers, length of each of them etc. is very important here.

Lastly, we talk about the level of comfort that you achieve with a particular hairstyle. While most hairstyles are quite comfortable essentially, the one you select depends quite a bit on personal preference and liking. There are many people, for instance, who would consider a seventies hairstyle to be quite uncomfortable, but for all we know, you might be a complete fan of them, and might want something just like them.

Well, until now, we have talked about ‘hairstyles’ as a synonym for ‘haircuts’. However, hairstyles also happen to include the way you set your hair for a particular occasion. For instance, you would want to curl or straighten your hair, and fashion it in a different and more strikingly elegant way for a formal dinner party, or just leave it lose, with a couple of accessories to go with it, while matching your step to the lively beat of the music at a rocking dance party.

Hair Moisture is Important

If you have long curly hair, do not apply too much strange substance on your hair, pull it too tight with your hair brush and you should refrain from using hot air to straightened it. What you should do is just let it naturally curly. This is because if you are spending too much time and effort you will be annoyed.

By applying quality shampoos as well as quality conditioners to your hair are parts of curly hair care. It's vital to maintain the proper moisture level because curly hair needs more moisture.

Be Sure to Use Correct Shampoo

Curly hair care experts recommends not to use clarifying shampoos on curly hair for more than once a month. Another suggestion is that not to choose transparent shampoo because it is an indication that it contains detergents that will reduce your hair moisture and if smooth manageable long curly hair is what you want. When applying shampoo on your hair be sure to be gentle.

The next useful tip for curly hair care is before you comb your hair make sure it is wet and using a comb is a good idea if you want to take out any tangles that you might have and it is also to create a part in you hair. You should only apply a brush to your hair is before you are going to wash it. Deep conditioning is important for curly hair care which should be done twice a month. Purchase some hair masks or quality conditioners instead of hot oil.

Put sufficient amount of conditioner in your hair and place a shower cap over your hair and then put a hot towel around the shower cap and leave it there for about an hour and then wash it out of your hair. These process should be done after you have shampooed your hair.

long hair wedding

The looks for this winter season are blazing hot, think sultry starlets of the fifties with lustrous waves, buns in all shapes and sizes and hair laden with baubles and bling. Having scoured the magazines and fashion shows I’ve put together my top three looks that work for both short and long hair and how to achieve them in less than fifteen minutes flat. It’s time to ditch the hairdresser and embrace the hairspray.

1. Get Your Buns In Shape

The Look: Relax no exercise involved, this season the classic bun is making a come back with some new twists. The starlet bun as I have named it can be worn in a variety of different ways. A twist in the centre to the top of the head, low in a smooth knotted style, or with a fringe at the front and knotted in a messy beehive at the back. For a clean, classic yet feminine bun that will finish a little black dress or sexy suit; simply follow the steps below.

How to do it: Style while your hair is still damp. Brush your hair back into a firm pony tail; try to get some height in the front to elongate your face (this is particularly important if you have a round face). Secure your hair with a quality elastic preferably something that has a non slip surface, there is nothing worse than a bun that is drooping or coming out as the day or night progresses. Once in a ponytail part the hair in two and smooth with hairspray or shine serum. Plait each section and continue to use product to smooth. Once both sections are plaited wrap them around each other in different directions. Secure the bun with high quality bobby pins; this will make a huge difference to the longevity and elegance of the look, I highly recommend a no slip bobby pin, the extra expense is worth it and if you look after them they will last longer.

2. Glamour Waves Are Rolling In

The Look: Glamorous waves that sit neatly at the side of the face and cascade down the back were on nearly every catwalk show for the season. The look dawns from fifties starlets and has been revived by the likes of Dita Von Teese. This style is high glamour and minimum effort, with a little planning it will stay beautiful all day, and go from stylish day to sexy night. For those with short hair this look translates beautifully lending a vintage French touch, think Chanel in the 1920’s.

How to do it: This look actually starts with the product you use to wash your hair; it demands healthy, ultra smooth and shiny hair. As I always advise use the best shampoo, conditioner and shining serum you can afford. This style is best done when the hair has more body and little natural oil, the day after washing is best. Working with damp hair, start by brushing the hair out so it is sleek and smooth, create a side part, and use bobby pins at two inch intervals at the base of the forehead starting from the part and continuing to the ears. Smooth the other side, gather the remaining hair back and plait, secure and leave to dry (for those with short hair simply comb the remaining hair back and sleek down with a gel or mousse). After 15 minutes of air drying the bobby pins and plait will set the hair. Simply take out the pins and undo the plait to reveal natural effortless waves. Use your hairdryer on cool to give the hair some body and spray with shine serum to finish the look.

3. Get the Decorators In

The Look: Hair accessories played a key part in fashion shows this season and not just as functional items but as display decoration. Barrettes and bows took pride of place at the front of the hair. Jewels, sequins, diamonds and pearls also played a part. This season dressing your hair is almost as important as the outfit you wear.

How to do it: This is a frivolous look for the season and can allow you to have some fun, however don’t over invest; try to buy classic pieces that will last you through this fashion and into the future. Simple diamante slides, a black crystal head band, and a classic collection of barrettes should see you through. The rule of the game here is to mix it up and go for something a little edgy. For those with short hair this is look is a winner. This style is ideal for those with hair that is 2 – 3 inches long, your hair should be dry and a little oily, also spray with shining serum before beginning. Using the Scunci No Slip bobby pins in Silver, sweep small sections of the hair back and secure with a bobby pin, do this all over to create a pixie like look. The front sections should be swept back cleanly and in a flattering part, however the back should look a little haphazard giving you a textured and playful look.

thick long hair

Even people with thinning hair dream of having lush, thick and healthy locks to set off their complete look. For most people with thinning hair, though, all of their styling endeavors are met with frustration and a resulting style that falls short of the image that they had envisioned.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Thinning hair does not sentence you to a life of dull and unstylish tresses. In fact, there are several things that you can do to make your thinning hair look stunning. And the best part is that these thinning hair options won't take a great deal of your time or money either.

The first thing that you need to do to make your thinning hair look fabulous is to find the right stylist. Search for a stylist who has other clients with thinning hair and is fluent in all of the right styles and techniques to both protect thinning hair and make it look thicker than it really is. You can do this by asking for referrals from friends who also have thinning hair but always seem to look like they have just left the salon.

Once you have found the right stylist, together you can begin to examine your options for making your thinning hair appear thick again. Since there are many different ways to thicken up your locks, it is very important for you and your stylist to talk about each thinning hair option together so that you pick the right techniques that are perfect for you and your thinning hair.

Prom Hair Style Tips

Prom night is obviously one of the most important social events in a teen's life. It combines romance, a party atmosphere, and a sense of saying goodbye to high school and carefree days. Everyone wants their prom experience to come off without a hitch and become a memory they'll cherish for the rest of their lives. For many girls, one aspect of the big night often becomes incredibly important: which prom hair style to choose.

There's more to this decision than you might think. Prom hair styles have to withstand a lot of activity for several hours. Imagine trying to keep a hair style looking great while dancing, rushing around to see friends, and then partying at all of the after-prom parties. Whew! Seen in that light, choosing the best hair style takes more careful planning than you thought, huh?

Formal or Functional?

Probably the biggest decision you have to make is whether to go with a seriously formal hair style for prom, or one that is less formal but more functional and able to handle the frenetic activity without falling apart. It's easier for girls with short hair, of course, but they also have fewer styling options. Teens with longer hair have more options on the formal side, but also then have to deal with more potential problems on prom night - especially after they've been dancing and rushing around for a couple of hours!

So, ultimately your choice of prom hair style comes down to your level of willingness to deal with maintaining the style all night. For many girls, it's important enough to deal with. For others, convenience is a higher priority. If you fall into the first group, a formal updo is a popular hair style for prom. It's a classic look that makes for beautiful prom pictures. If, however, you're more about the dancing and less about the elegance, sweeping your hair back into a ponytail is a great solution, and probably the most common choice.

Get Expert Advice

Whichever direction you go, the best advice is to enlist the help of your hair stylist! If your stylist is good and has been doing the job for more than just a year or two, chances are he or she will have tons of great advice about how you should style your hair for prom. The longer you've been going to that stylist, the better, because he or she will know your preferences and personality well enough to make appropriate suggestions. Together, you should be able to come up with a great choice. Make it easier by looking through magazines and web sites and cutting or printing out pictures of the prom hair styles you like the most. Keep them in a folder and take them with you when you visit your stylist for a consult.

A common mistake many girls make is not planning far enough in advance. You never know what a hair style will look like until you're sporting it. Don't get stuck with one you hate on prom night because you ran out of time! You can easily avoid that disaster by getting with your stylist at least a month before your prom and having him or her try several styles. Have your mom or a friend take pictures from several angles in each style so you can review them later and make a good decision without feeling rushed. When prom night finally arrives, you'll enjoy it a lot more knowing that the hair style you're wearing is the best one for you. No surprises!

long hair formal

Your hair has been getting thinner for a while. When you look in the mirror, you are appalled. What’s with all that scalp shining through?

Maybe you’re just fed up with it and wish it would look thicker. Maybe you’re actively doing something that may help your hair grow back, or at least make it stop falling out so much. And you’re optimistic. But why does it have to take so long until you see a noticeable difference?

Here are a few things you can do to make your hair at least look thicker while you wait. They're easy and quick so you can have thicker hair tonight. And the best thing: none of them involve expensive or otherwise drastic measures.

Tip 1: Use Color. This technique is especially effective if your hair is graying. In that case, color will make your hair look much thicker instantly. But color can also help if you’re just changing your shade a little, and even if you pick a perfect match for your natural color. That’s because hair color actually thickens each individual hair just a tiny bit, and the overall effect is very helpful.

Tip 2: Use Thickening Shampoos. Thickening shampoos, also known as voluming shampoos, really make a difference. There are a number of them on the market. I’m avoiding anything with sodium lauryl sulfate these days, so I’m buying mine at the health food store. Before I went off that chemical, I used to use one with a really embarrassing name by Catwalk. Excellent stuff.

Tip 3: Dry shampoos. I discovered this little trick by accident. Originally I bought it because I thought I might find it handy after hitting the snooze button too many times. But when I combed my hair after the first time I tried it, I could hardly believe my eyes. My hair looked a LOT thicker. It felt that way too! Now this may not be ideal for everyday use, and it’s surprisingly expensive, but who am I to tell you what to do. Besides, it thickens up clean hair quite nicely too...

Meanwhile, I have tried two of the dry shampoos, one great, and the other quite serviceable but with far too much perfume for my taste. The price difference is substantial though that I have bought a second bottle of the overly perfumed kind.

Just in case you want to know: the fancy shampoo is Naturia by Rene Furterer ($22 for 3.2 oz. on Ebay), and the other, heavily perfumed one is just plain “dry shampoo” by Batiste ($6.99 at Sally’s). Both come in environmentally problematic spray bottles, and you should probably also know that the 3 to 5 ounces of stuff is only enough for maybe half a dozen or so applications, depending on how much of it you use each time.

straight long hair

Getting hair straight is somehow difficult if you have naturally curly hair. Still the hair can be straightened with the help of certain tools and equipment. To blow dry the straight hair is also a technique, which requires good amount of patience and hard work. if you have a large number of curls on your head, it is more difficult to get them straight. So, let’s start blow drying your hair straight. You need certain hair products and tools to perform the straightening of hair.

The required tools and other products for straightening the hair include a hair dryer with a nozzle to concentrate the airflow. A round bristle brush, the size of which has to be in accordance to the length of hair. A large pad brush is required for final smoothing of the hair. Some clips are needed to keep the unwanted hair out of the selected sections. To protect the hair from moisture and to keep them holding for longer, a mousse is also required. Also, a gloss or oil is required for a smooth finishing. Now when you have arranged all the desired products, you can start up with the blow-drying your hair straight. Though, there are different methods of blow-drying but here we will discuss one of the easiest for you.

Shampoo and condition your hair using a normal type or one that is designed for smoothing and straightening, which can be easily procured from the market. Now untangle your hair with a large toothed comb and then dry your hair with your finger until it gets almost dry. Now, apply a thermal protection spray to prevent your hair from getting damaged. Now separate the hair into different sections and clip all the sections. Then, choose a section, which is around 5 cm of width. Make it sure that the section is completely covered along with the width of the hair brush. Now, drag the brush over the surface of the hair from roots to the ends directing the brush towards shoulders and do form the tension on the hair. Now, wind the hair around the brush from ends to scalp but make it sure that the ends do not bend. Use other hand to keep the hair smooth and straight.

Unwind the brush revealing a length of hair about 2 inches that is required to be blown-dry. Do not let the tension get disturbed as it will help to straighten the hair. Now, take the hair dryer with attached nozzle and blow dry the section under the tension. The air flow has to be directed towards the ends of the hair. You are blow-drying your hair between the scalp and the brush but do not dry the hair held over the brush which at this point is to be treated as the gripping tool and not the combing one.

In any case, if you tend to get the frizzy pieces of hair, then move the hair dryer to hold them straight. Keep the hair dryer at least 3 to 5 cm away from the hair, otherwise it may burn your hair. Carry on to blow dry the lengths of your hair in the similar fashion from scalp to the brush. Now, the moment has arrived that the whole section has been formed straight and only the ends are left so decide if you wish to have the ends turned in or turned out. Just bend the hair around the brush and blow them dry. Otherwise to get the straight sleek look, keep the brush beneath the ends and do not roll the brush around the hair and blow the dryer keeping them straight. Now, let the hair fall freely and do not disturb them until they are extremely cool. Repeat the same treatment with other sections of the hair to finish all the sections of your hair. Finally, you have finished with getting the straight hair; apply a gloss or oil to protect the recently straightened hair from the moisture and forming unwanted tangles and horrible frizzes.

wavy long hair

There are many different breeds of dogs out there. The choices are too numerous to count. With each breed of dog you also have different colors of coat they will have, and the texture of their coat. Some dogs have short hair while others have long. Some breeds have a straight coat, while others are wavy or curly.

Tamming the Curls

No matter which dog you choose, you will need to know how to properly groom them. If you have a dog that has a wavy or curly coat, you will want to know how to take care of their coat properly. A dog with a curly or wavy coat will take more time and attention to keep looking good than a dog with straight hair.

When caring for a dog with curly hair you will want to make sure you keep the coat a good length. If you let the coat get too long it will get tangled easily, and twigs and debris will get stuck in it. This is especially important to people who show their dog, or use their dog for hunting. It is easier for your dog to be helpful while hunting if he has a coat that is well maintained.

Cutting the Curls

Most curly haired dogs will need to have their coat cut. Two inches is the best length for the dogs coat. It does take time and practice to master cutting your dogs hair. Some people choose just to use a buzzer, this is an easy fast way of cutting your dogs coat. Others choose to use a scissor, which takes more practice. If your dog is going to be in dog shows you may want to take them to a place that specializes in dog grooming.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when grooming your dogs coat yourself, or between visits to the dog groomer. First you will want to make sure you brush the dogs entire coat to get rid of as dead coat as you can, this also gets rid of the tangles. A pin brush and or slicker brush usually work the best for this. Next you will want to use a comb to make sure you get every tangle. To ensure that you do not rip any hair out you will want to take your time.

After you are sure you have removed all the dead hair, and the tangles you are ready to proceed with the cutting. The first thing you will want to do is remove any extra hair. Remember you should leave the hair about two inches long, and it should be a pretty even cut. Now you will want to proceed to the foot, and the foot pads. You will want to cut any excess hair from between the paws, the make the paw blend in with the leg hair.

After you have finished with the legs and paws you are ready to continue towards the torso. You will want to make sure you cut off excess fuzz, and shape the hair in a way that flatters your breed of dog. You will want to make sure you take your time and do a good job. Stop periodically to look at you work. Having a picture of your breed of dog will be a big help. This way you have an idea of what you are going for.

hairstyles for long hair

2010 is here and that means that the whole new wave of hair styles is here. From the top stylist in Beverly Hills to Christian Wave, the top stylist at the Golden Globes and Academy awards, they are all showcasing what the term Sedu means. You probably have heard of the whole Sedu wave but what about the best in hair styles suing the Sedu. Jennifer Anniston – the queen of the new hair style is showcasing with the Sedu and she looks sleek and super healthy with her hair. She loves the appliance, no not that one, we mean the Sedu. So shout it from the mountain tops as everybody is talking Sedu.

So what is a Sedu, it is a very ceramic flat iron that is also used in the same company as super silky and super straight. Ceramic flat irons work well to straighten out the curly hair while also eliminating the frizzy hair that tends to frizz after a few hours of straightening. Both of these types of h air work well for the Sedu. There are also beauty products and hair products that work well with the Sedu flat irons. For example the Health Hair Plus line of products can produce the sleek and sexy look that you are after. So which products? The best shampoo to use is Sleek and Straight shampoo and also Sleek and Straight Conditioner. While straightening the hair we suggest using Thermal Protector. That is a very strong suggestion by the way as the Thermal Protector protects hair from the strong heat that comes from the flat irons and appliances. Vitamin shampoo and Silk Protein conditioner helps to rebuild the proteins that are broken down during the process of applying heat to the hair but also proteins are broken down while using straightening products such as relaxers and perms. This is why the hair is constantly needing proteins. Can you add to many proteins – sure! This will cause the hair to become brittle. The brittleness using causes split ends and other associated problems. For most over proteining the hair is not a problem and if you want that super soft and full of like hair then adding a silk protein to your hair makeover or regimen is vital. We don’t suggest using a protein conditioner everyday and as far as proteins go, silk protein makes the hair feel the softest while keratin and wheat protein do the best job of rebuilding the hair. In our Silk Protein conditioner we include all three and it works as a total conditioner to help repair any hair problems but also a super sleek shine that goes extremely well and plays right into the look that Sedu is trying to accomplish! Sedu hair styles are typically very sleek as the hair slides off of the iron.

Some other great hair products that you may want to consider in your hair makeover are those products that work on the root of the hair and Healthy Hair Plus as well Nioxin both work on this with just about every product except the styling products that they manufacture. Products such as Root Food by Healthy Hair Plus and Vitamin shampoo as well as Hair Nutrition vitamins all work on feeding the root the nutrition that it needs to get hair healthy again and for many that is the key to getting rid of frizz. So many people think that hair frizz and split ends are just a hair problem but many times it is a root problem with the root not getting enough nutrition to sustain healthy growth and that will cause the hair to be much more fragile as it grows out of the scalp or medulla of the hair.

Long hair updo

You have long hair and you are ready for an updo or “long hair” service and you go to a full service salon and what – they don’t offer “long hair” service. Guess its not so full service after all. So you go to another beautician and they don’t know what to do either. Why is that? Some of the reasons hairstylists don’t offer “long hair” or updo service is because:

- None of their clients have long hair
- Never learned how
- Takes too long
- Learned, tried it, but got out of practice and forgot
- Too confusing

To the hairstylist, watching is easy. But when you are actually doing the work, it becomes confusing. It’s hard for a hairstylist to get and keep clients. If you are able to offer total hair services, including long hair, then you’ll be keeping new clients instead of sending them away. One way to help you get over some of the points listed above is to practice on a wig or mannequin. When you are in-between appointments, this will offer you practice to gain confidence and allows you to display your work to your customers.

If you are good at long hair, then you need to be the hairstylist that your competitors send their customers to. Advertise that you do long hair. There are plenty that don’t do long hair and this approach may get you the client list you need.

Let the bridal shops know you are available, along with the formal dress shops. Girls going to prom always want fancy hairstyles. Offer your services free to the bridal show as a promotion for your business. This helps you gain more updo customers and helps the bridal shop. Win-win.

You can also create a photo album of the mannequins you have been practicing on, or on customers. This will give prospective customers your ability and creativity level. Another idea is to work with a clothing store on their special event or sale days – and offer your services to attract customers. You can make these books up inexpensively with a digital camera and color copies. Have them bound with some of your business cards and ask if you can display them at the bridal shops.

Complimentary cards are very good, too. You can offer a discount on the back of the card. When a client gets their hair done, then give them some cards to hand out when they are asked where they got such a cute hairstyle. This works especially well at high schools before proms and dances. As always, if they don’t need long hair services, they will probably pass the card onto a friend.
